Beginning Hand-building Series: Pinch Pot Faces Cups/ Planters (Sunday May 4th 10-1pm
This series is geared towards teaching you the fundamentals of Hand-building and establishing a solid foundation for you to build upon. We will spend 3 classes on each process, 2 classes for building and 1 for glazing.
In the first of the Hand-building classes, we will focus on the pinching process to make an evenly delineated form. Pinching is the foundation for clay construction. You will learn how to make a cup or planter, that will either reference a figurative face or animal face, which will be fun and functional! You will also learn about glaze possibilities and overall surface design. Expect to make 1 to 3 pieces (time permitting). All materials will be provided, including 5lbs of clay and a bright assortment of glazes. You will be able to access the open studio once a week for the duration of our 3 week period.
Cancellation Policy: You can cancel anytime up to the week leading up to a class start for a class credit, after that no refunds or cancellations 7 days prior to class or after it starts.
If I have to miss a class due to illness, I will schedule a make-up class.
If you need to miss a class you can come to the open studio hours for practice. Open studio is uninstructed time where you can practice what you’ve learned.
Please try not to miss the first class. I review a lot of information, studio policies, and demonstrations that are pertinent to your success.
