Beginning/ Mixed Level Throwing Saturdays 10am-1pm (Starts on Saturday October 5th)
This is a great class for someone who has little to no experience with clay. The beginning students will learn the sequential steps in throwing centering, opening, and pulling a wall to make cylinders, bowls, round vessels and trimming the forms. You will also learn how to apply glazes, basic chemistry, and how to make conscious aesthetic choices. You will make about 10-15 vessels.
The intermediate students will start with larger amounts of clay, plates and a lidded form. You will continue to learn about aesthetic choices and make informed glaze decisions. You will make a total of 10-15 vessels.
This will be an 8 week course meeting 3 hours per week, 25lbs of clay, basic studio tools and glazes will be provided. As well as one practice session a week during your 8 week course during open studio hours.
Class starts on Saturday October 5th
(10/5, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, 11/23)
Cancellation Policy: You can cancel anytime up to the week leading up to a class start for a class credit, after that no refunds or cancellations 7 days prior to class or after it starts.
If I have to miss a class due to illness, I will schedule a make-up class.
If you need to miss a class you can come to the open studio hours for practice. Open studio is uninstructed time where you can practice what you’ve learned.
Please try not to miss the first class. I review a lot of information, studio policies, and demonstrations that are pertinent to your success.
